Islamabad (Digital Post) A horrific incident has been reported in Rawat where a 19-year-old woman, who boarded a local van to go shopping, was allegedly assaulted by four men. The suspects also recorded videos during the act and are now threatening to release them on WhatsApp and issuing death threats to stop legal action. The victim’s condition has deteriorated. On the application of the victim’s mother, Rawat Police have registered a case.

According to the FIR, the complainant Bano Bibi, resident of Mohalla Kot Syedan Road, Gujar Khan, District Rawalpindi, stated that her 19-year-old daughter Hira, who is married and a mother of two children, left home around 11:30 AM before Ramadan to go to Rawat Bazaar to buy clothes for her children. She first traveled in a carry van from the village and got off at GT Road near Chak Beli. From there, she boarded a Toyota Hiace to go to Rawat Bazaar.

As soon as she boarded the vehicle, the conductor closed the door and turned the vehicle back toward Chak Beli Road. When her daughter raised an alarm, the conductor overpowered her and silenced her. Another man boarded the vehicle from Chak Beli Road, whom the others addressed as Aqeel, while the driver was called Sultan. The vehicle was then driven to an area near Baga Sheikhan and stopped near a house, where they attempted to drag Hira inside.

According to the statement, Aqeel used a piece of cloth to silence her, and the suspects kept driving the vehicle around the Baga Sheikhan road area. Taking advantage of the situation, all four men allegedly assaulted her and recorded videos. Later, around 4 PM, they dropped her near Chak Beli Mor and fled.

After reaching home, Hira informed her husband Qadeer, who allegedly advised her to remain silent. The suspects continued to threaten her by calling and sending WhatsApp messages, warning that they would release the video if she pursued legal action. One of the suspects, identified as Sultan, made multiple calls and issued threats. It was also claimed in the messages that the incident was carried out on the instigation of Kainat and Firdous (the victim’s sister-in-law and mother-in-law).

The complainant further stated that a person named Akbar attempted to stop them from taking legal action through a jirga, promising compensation for medical treatment on behalf of the accused, but later failed to fulfill the promise. Due to the lack of timely medical treatment, the victim’s condition worsened.

The suspects, identified as Sultan and Aqeel along with two unidentified individuals, are accused of committing the assault. The complainant has submitted a written application along with her daughter and requested legal action and justice.
