Lahore (Digital Post) FIA Anti-Corruption Circle carried out a major operation and arrested Deputy Secretary of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Muhammad Akram Joiya, on charges of alleged corruption worth 170 million rupees and misuse of authority. The scope of investigation has been expanded regarding allegations exceeding 500 million rupees.
According to FIA’s preliminary inquiry No. 53/2026, the accused, while serving as Administrator Lahore, misused his position and received illegal benefits and bribes worth 170 million rupees from a citizen, Azim Hussain, in exchange for leasing 200 plots of the Evacuee Trust Property Board in DHA Phase 6. This included a residential house worth 135 million rupees located on Tufail Road in Lahore Cantt and a KIA Sportage vehicle worth 7.5 million rupees.
The investigation also revealed that the accused prepared fake sale deeds of plots in Central Park Lahore and other bogus documents to conceal this illegal wealth, while showing a difference of millions of rupees between DC rates and actual market value to distort the money trail.
According to reports regarding alleged corruption in the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Akram Joiya and Deputy Administrator Umar Javed Awan are facing serious allegations of illegal occupation of government land worth billions and possessing assets beyond known sources of income, including properties in Pak Arab Society, DHA, and other housing schemes.
FIA has registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Anti-Corruption Act and the Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is underway under the supervision of Inspector Waqar Hussain Awan to identify other individuals involved in the department.
