Karachi (Digital Posts) Karachi Police conducted a major operation and recovered diesel worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from a concealed tank installed in a truck trailer. The suspect has been arrested. According to police officials, the accused was attempting to smuggle diesel by hiding it in a secret additional tank installed in the truck trailer. Acting on the instructions of SSP West Tariq Ilahi Mastoi, SHO Manghopir Anees Sheikh carried out an operation on the basis of an intelligence tip and arrested the driver, Shabbir Ahmed son of Haml Khan.
Police stated that more than 4,000 liters of smuggled diesel were recovered from the hidden additional tank of the truck trailer used by the suspect.
When contacted, SSP West Tariq Ilahi Mastoi confirmed that the truck trailer used for smuggling had also been taken into police custody in accordance with legal procedures. He further stated that the arrested suspect along with the recovered diesel would be handed over to the Customs authorities for further legal action.
