Rawalpindi: (special correspondent): The Mega City Gujjar Khan housing project has been embroiled in land grabbing and corruption allegations as It has been revealed that the site office of Mega City Gujjar Khan is also built on occupied land.
Speaking to Daily Digital Post, Junaid, a resident of Mohra Mayal, stated that the land on which the office of Mega City Gujjar Khan is built belongs to his family. They had been cultivating crops on this land for generations, and their ancestors have owned this land for decades.
According to the sources, the lands of more than ten families in Jaro Ratial have been grabbed by this Mega City Gujar Khan Land Mafia. These include Dildar Hussain Fauji with 27 kanals, Havildar Retd Muhammad Saeed with 150 kanals, SSG Commando Retired Haji Muhammad, Havildar Abdul Rehman with 22 kanals, Havaldar Muhammad Inayat with 23 kanals, Sher Afzal, etc., with 44 kanals, Mohammad Azad Shaukat with 4 kanals and 16 kanals, Captain Meherban with two and a half kanals, Aftab Baloch with 4 kanals and 16 kanals, Diwan Ali with 8 kanals, Khan Bahadur with 8 kanals, Inayat with 15 kanals, Sabir, etc., with 20 kanals, Muhammad Aslam with 33 kanals, and Muhammad Crown’s area includes 5 kanals and 6 marles.
Sources said that a few people in Misa Kaswal and Jaro Ratial have sold their land to Mega City at high prices after the occupation. According to sources, the new owners of Mega City purchased an already established housing society in Mouza Missa Kiswal from Raja Iqbal, the owner of Iqbal Town, and started the project under the name of Mega City Gujar Khan.
Sources briefed, the land mafia, consisting of Sheikh Tayyabul Aziz Builders, Mubasher Hayat Earthlink Enterprises, and Chaudhry Qaiser Tycoon Builders, have established an office in Bahria Town Rawalpindi and created an illegal housing society without obtaining approval from the Rawalpindi Development Authority. They are selling thousands of files to overseas Pakistanis at home and abroad through electronic, digital, outdoor advertising, property dealers, real estate marketing companies, and YouTubers.
Sources claimed that the Navsarbaz group has allegedly looted billions of rupees through trading and transferred it abroad through money laundering.
During the site visit of the Mega City of Gujjar Khan by Daily Digital Post, some interesting facts have come to light.
The owners of the fraudulent project have not spared government lands, including land designated for public interest and a pond, and have occupied it continuously.
According to sources, Mubasher Hayat, Chaudhry Qaiser, and Sheikh Tayyab have the full backing of Pakistan’s leading real estate developer.
Commissioner Rawalpindi, DC Rawalpindi, and DG Rawalpindi Development Authority, Acting Commissioner Gujjar Khan, and Tehsildar Rawalpindi have registered complaints of land grabbing against this Mafia. CPO Rawalpindi and Gujjar Khan police have also received applications of local citizens regarding violence against local citizens and land grabbing incidents. However, the accused continue their illegal business, selling files to overseas Pakistanis while assuring them that the LOP will be approved by the RDA.
The victims, while speaking to Daily Digital Post, said that after the completion of the identification process, the site office of Mega City Gujjar Khan will also have to be demolished. The housing society is being built, and work has begun without the NOC from the Department of Agriculture and Environment which is necessary to start housing society.
Commissioner Rawalpindi, DGRDA, and the spokesperson of Rawalpindi Development Authority have already declared the project illegal.
The Revenue Department official source stated that steps have been taken to initiate the identification process based on the applications of local resident Raja Shabbir. However, in light of the threat to peace and security, notices will be sent to all the owners of these places after security arrangements are made, and after identification, all the real owners will be determined.
According to sources, after the Rawalpindi administration ordered the Mega City administration to stop the construction work immediately, the work at the Mega City Gujjar Khan site has been halted, and most of the machinery has also disappeared, while a bulldozer and an excavator are still present.
Local sources report that armed men are patrolling the Mega City site, and individuals dressed in black and armed with heavy weapons are patrolling the area. It is beyond the capacity of the police to provide security against such a large number of armed groups.
The residents of Mohra Mayal have demanded the deployment of Rangers in the area during the strike.
