Hyderabad (Digital Post): The actions of Nasim Nagar Police in Hyderabad have once again become a source of controversy. According to reports, 16-year-old matriculation student Ali Murtaza Brohi, who was present at the Sessions Court Hyderabad in connection with proceedings for his confirmation of bail, was allegedly taken into police custody from the court premises.

The family and concerned individuals maintain that Ali Murtaza Brohi was linked to a case in which he was allegedly suspected solely on the basis of CCTV footage during an investigation into a theft incident. According to them, the student maintains that he was merely passing through the street at the time of the incident and had no connection with it, while a JIT report regarding further investigation into the matter is also available with the relevant authorities.

The family further alleged that, on a previous occasion, Nasim Nagar Police personnel entered their home during police action and subjected women to mistreatment and violence, as a result of which a three-month-old unborn child died. Following these allegations, SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar had taken notice at the time and suspended the then SHO Nasim Nagar, Zaheer Solangi.

The affected family and citizens have demanded that the SSP Hyderabad take immediate notice of this latest incident, order an impartial investigation into the alleged taking of the student into custody from the court, and, if any official is found to have acted outside the law, take legal action against the responsible personnel.
