Rahim Yar Khan (Digital Post): A matter related to appointments and administrative affairs at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sadiqabad has become a cause of concern among citizens, where questions are being raised regarding the conduct and performance of duties by Dr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Pirzada.

According to details, Dr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Pirzada was appointed as a Grade 18 Senior Blood Transfusion Officer; however, for the past four months, he has been serving as in-charge of the Cardiac Ward without any formal notification. Recently, he was directed to assume his original responsibilities in the Blood Bank, but reports suggest that instead of accepting this posting, he is insisting on continuing in the Cardiac Ward.

According to sources, the hospital administration has issued a proper roster for the Cardiac First Aid Center, while the said doctor has been assigned night duty in the Emergency Department as a Medical Officer. Despite this, the Blood Bank is currently functioning without a Senior Blood Transfusion Officer, which is a highly sensitive department and may create a dangerous situation for public health.

Experts say that unsafe blood transfusion can lead to the spread of serious diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS. In recent times, an increase in such cases has also been reported in different parts of the country, making the absence of a qualified officer in the Blood Bank a matter of serious concern.

Citizens have demanded that the law should be equal for everyone and that the doctor should immediately be assigned to his original duties. They also called for making the Blood Bank system functional and safe, and for conducting a transparent inquiry into the matter and taking action against those responsible. An appeal has also been made to the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Health Minister to take immediate notice of the issue.
