Haripur (Digital Post): A tragic incident occurred in the village of Ghmanwan located on Rehana Road, where a 75-year-old disabled elderly man was brutally murdered.

According to details, Fazal Baba son of Sher Bahadur, a resident of Mohalla Behkan and uncle of Maulana Qari Nazeer, was allegedly killed by Ghulam Haider son of Niaz Ali, a resident of the same area. The accused carried out multiple knife attacks in Mohalla Chambian. After the incident, the accused fled from the scene, while Fazal Baba succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

According to sources, the deceased was returning home from a wedding ceremony when the accused, who was lying in wait on the way, attacked him. Fazal Baba was a very noble, friendly, and cheerful person. He was disabled in one arm and used to earn his livelihood by buying and selling eggs from different neighborhoods.

Upon receiving information, Sarai Saleh Police immediately reached the scene and began the investigation after collecting evidence. The body was shifted to Haripur Trauma Center for post-mortem.

On the instructions of DPO Haripur Shafiullah Gandapur, the police took prompt action. Under the leadership of SHO Sarai Saleh Qamar Khan, the accused Ghulam Haider was arrested within an hour and the weapon used in the crime was also recovered. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.

This incident is yet another painful example of how minor disputes can lead to the loss of a precious human life. To prevent such incidents, social tolerance, patience, and strict enforcement of the law are essential.
