According to details, upon investigation of reports about the theft of petrol and diesel from oil tankers on GT Road within the limits of Police Station Rawat, local sources stated that for a long time petrol and diesel have been stolen from oil tankers in rented compounds. One of these compounds is located right next to Police Station Rawat and is reportedly operated by a person named Faisal Bhatti. Other locations include Chak Beli Morr and near Bismillah Hotel, where a large number of oil tankers arrive daily.

From these oil tankers, petrol and diesel worth hundreds of thousands of rupees are openly stolen every day, while the monthly theft amounts to crores of rupees. It is worth mentioning that a few days ago news regarding this important issue also circulated on social media. According to sources, individuals involved in this illegal business claimed that they have full support from Rawat Police and that no one can shut down their illegal business. Such open statements and the complete silence from the police have raised questions over the performance of the SHO Rawat and other administrative authorities.

It should be noted that there are no safety arrangements at these locations to deal with any possible emergency situation.

CPO Rawalpindi, SP Saddar, Deputy Commissioner, and the Civil Defence Department are requested to take notice of the situation, shut down this illegal business, and take action against the individuals involved.
