A horrific honey trap network was exposed in Abbottabad, an inter-provincial kidnapping gang demanding a ransom of Rs 150 million was arrested.

Abbottabad DPO Haroon Rashid Khan and SP Cantt Ali Hamza Butt led Abbottabad Police in a major and sensational operation and exposed an inter-provincial gang involved in serious crimes such as honey trap and kidnapping for ransom.
Abbottabad (Crime Reporter) Under the successful strategy of SHO Mirpur Police Station Asghar Khan, the police arrested two main accused and safely recovered the abductee Abdul Aziz Malana, while raids are underway to arrest other absconding accused.
According to details, a citizen from France informed the police through a WhatsApp call that his father Abdul Aziz Malana, who had come to Abbottabad from Multan to attend a wedding ceremony, had suddenly gone missing and his mobile phone was constantly being switched off. Meanwhile, an unknown number sent a video of the kidnapper in chains, demanding a ransom of Rs 150 million and threatening to kill him if he did not pay the money.
As soon as the information was received, the police, acting on modern lines of investigation, obtained footage of the CCTV cameras of the Daewoo bus stand, with the help of which a taxi driver was traced. Taking forward the same link, a successful raid was conducted in Osmanabad from where two main accused Waseem Abbas and Bibi were arrested while the kidnapper was safely recovered.
Initial investigation revealed that the incident was carried out by an organized inter-provincial gang, in which the woman involved trapped the kidnapper in a net through a honey trap and handed him over to her accomplices. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under Section 365-A and further investigation is underway.
This timely, courageous and professional action of the Abbottabad Police is being highly appreciated in the civic circles, which has once again proved that criminal elements cannot escape the clutches of the law.
