Lahore (Abbas Baig Mirza) To prevent provocations during Basant, the Punjab Home Department has imposed certain restrictions to maintain religious harmony and public order. According to the notification, there is a ban on putting pictures of holy books, religious places or any personality on kites. There is also a complete ban on the manufacture, purchase and sale of kites with the image of the flag of any country or political party. There is a complete ban on the use of metal wire and nylon string. However, it is allowed to use single-colored or multi-colored kites or kites without images. In Lahore, it is mandatory to use a safety rod on motorcycles during Basant. There will be a complete ban on aerial firing and display of weapons during Basant. The notification states that law enforcement agencies will take strict action against violation of Section 144. According to the Home Department, only kite flying equipment will be allowed in the city in accordance with the law, while prohibited equipment will be confiscated immediately.
