Under the zero-tolerance policy against drugs of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Sohail Afridi and Minister for Excise Mr. Syed Fakhar Jahan, and in accordance with the orders and guidelines of Secretary Excise Khalid Ilyas and Director General Excise Abdul Haleem Khan, vigorous and effective operations against drugs are continuing across the province.
In this connection, the Excise Intelligence Squad in Khyber carried out a major and successful operation, foiling an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics. During the operation, 5.04 maunds (201,600 grams) of charas were recovered, while one accused was arrested and a case has been registered against him.
Peshawar (Report by Malik Rizwan Chauhan): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Sohail Afridi has issued clear directives that “Drugs are a serious threat to society, especially to the future of the young generation. The government will not show any leniency in eradicating this menace. Strict actions against drug dealers will continue without discrimination.”
Furthermore, Minister for Excise Mr. Syed Fakhar Jahan has issued clear instructions that “Implementation of the zero-tolerance policy against elements involved in drug smuggling and sale will be ensured at all costs. The Excise Force is being made more active and effective so that the province can be made drug-free.”
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is utilizing all available resources to eliminate drugs and is determined to protect the lives and property of the public and ensure a safe future for the young generation.
According to the case details, under the supervision of Saud Khan Gandapur, Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Bureau, and Majid Khan, Excise and Taxation Officer Narcotics Control, Waheed Akbar Khan (Inspector), Adnan Shahid (Sub-Inspector), Waleed Khan (Sub-Inspector), Malik Niaz Khan (Assistant Sub-Inspector) of Excise Intelligence, and Majid Hussain, SHO Police Station Excise Khyber, near Shah Kas Jamrud during an operation foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics. During the search of vehicle registration number LES 2022, 5.04 maunds (201,600 grams) of charas were recovered. One accused, Umrad Ali son of Andaz Ali, resident of Mardan, was arrested on the spot, and a case for further investigation was registered at Police Station Excise Khyber against the nominated accused Haroon, resident of Bara.
