Islamabad (Digital Post) Notices issued by the CDA in Bharakahu and surrounding areas, wave of concern among residents
According to authenticated sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started issuing notices in Bharakahu, Kot Hathiyal, Juma Bazaar, Janjua Town, New Mangial, Subhan Mandla, and adjoining areas. Through these notices, the local population has been informed that the said areas are located on CDA-owned land.
Sources say that under CDA policy, affected individuals will be paid at the rate of Rs. 1300 per square foot in compensation for houses and constructions present in these areas. However, those individuals who have been declared illegal occupants on CDA land have been directed to vacate the premises within two days.
After the issuance of notices, severe concern is being observed among the local population. Residents’ stance is that they have been living in these areas for many years, some individuals even have electricity, gas, and water connections; therefore, evicting them suddenly is tantamount to injustice.
