ISLAMABAD (Digital Post):Khanewal honour killing: Man stabbed to death over alleged affair; DSP Joya leads quick operation, suspects nabbed within an hour
Victim attacked after being accused of relationship with suspect’s mother.
Police recover murder weapon; case registered for further investigation.
Residents term the incident a grim reminder of rising honour-related violence.

A shocking case of honour killing rocked Khanewal’s Mushtaq Colony on Friday night when a man was brutally stabbed to death over suspicions of an illicit relationship. Police, led by DSP Sadar Khalid Javed Joya, launched a quick operation and arrested both suspects within an hour, recovering the blood-stained knife used in the crime.
According to investigators, the prime suspect Abdul Wahab believed the victim, Kamran, had developed an inappropriate relationship with his mother. Acting on his suspicions, Wahab, along with his friend Rizwan, lured Kamran out of his home and launched a frenzied knife assault. Despite being critically wounded, Kamran attempted to flee, but Wahab chased him down a nearby street and stabbed him repeatedly until he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim’s cries for help echoed through the neighbourhood, leaving residents horrified yet too frightened to intervene.
Police swiftly cordoned off the area, apprehended Wahab and Rizwan, and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
Locals condemned the killing as another tragic example of blind extremism in the name of honour, which they said continues to destroy families and spread fear across society. At the same time, they lauded police for their prompt response and for capturing the culprits without delay.
