Islamabad (Digital Posts) Vowing zero tolerance for abuse of power and dereliction of duty, newly appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ali Wasim formally assumed charge of Islamabad Police today, directing senior officers to immediately intensify field operations and enhance citizen protection across the federal capital.In his maiden operational meeting with top Islamabad Police command—including SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Investigation Sulaiman Zafar, and SSP Security & Administration Muhammad Shehryar Khan, alongside zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs—DIG Wasim conducted a comprehensive review of the capital’s security posture and current crime trends.Interacting with field commanders, the DIG laid out a clear administrative roadmap focused on accountability, swift complaint redressal, and unbiased enforcement of the law.”The law applies equally to everyone—no individual or group stands above it,” DIG Wasim asserted, warning that while high-performing officers will be rewarded on merit, negligence or misconduct will face immediate disciplinary action.He directed all circle and station officers to increase field presence, streamline intelligence-led operations, and rebuild public trust through responsive, high-integrity policing.
