Islamabad (Digital Post) Crackdown Launched Against Rickshaw Drivers for Illegal Entry into Islamabad; CTO Islamabad،According to the details, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has launched a special crackdown against rickshaw drivers illegally entering the federal capital, particularly in rural areas, a police spokesperson said.Following the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Traffic Police has launched the crackdown to ensure smooth traffic flow, prevent road accidents, protect citizens, and enforce road safety regulations.In this regard, several teams have been formed to take action against rickshaw drivers illegally entering Islamabad, particularly in rural and other areas of the city.During the ongoing crackdown, challan tickets have been issued to more than 400 rickshaws, while 150 rickshaws have been impounded at various police stations.On this occasion, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan directed the zonal DSPs to take daily action against rickshaw drivers illegally entering the city. The special squad is conducting operations and taking action by establishing checkpoints on the Expressway, Colonel Sher Khan Road, Murree Road, Seventh Avenue, Ninth Avenue, and other major roads of Islamabad.The night-shift in-charge is also taking legal action against violators under his supervision, while the Education Wing is conducting daily road-safety awareness activities for the public. Special broadcasts are also being aired on ITP Radio FM 92.4 to inform citizens about the crackdown against illegal rickshaws.
