Rawalpindi (Digital Post): Following the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) related to the Rawalpindi Ring Road service area and Nishat Cinema, the Government of Punjab transferred the Commissioner Rawalpindi, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), and several other senior officials. However, some registry clerks and other close staff members working in the offices connected to the case continue to remain in their positions, raising questions among the public.

According to sources, some registry clerks had remained posted on the same seat continuously for the last four to five years. Their responsibilities were not limited to those of registry clerks; they also served as confidential staff to the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi and enjoyed special access in official and administrative matters.

Sources further state that two of the registry clerks were considered among the Deputy Commissioner’s closest confidential staff members. Public circles believe that if investigations are being conducted into alleged irregularities or the issuance of fake NOCs related to the Ring Road service area and Nishat Cinema, then the role of these officials should also be thoroughly and impartially examined.

Citizens have demanded that the matter should not be limited only to the transfer of senior officers. They have called for the immediate administrative transfer of all concerned registry clerks, particularly those who remained posted on the same seat for a long period and served as confidential staff to the Deputy Commissioner, so that the investigation can be conducted in a completely transparent manner.
