Islamabad (Digital Post) 66,089 Traffic Violators Penalized in Islamabad During Special Enforcement Drive،Islamabad Traffic Police Takes Legal Action Against 66,089 Traffic Violators،According to the details, following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police continued its special campaign against traffic law violations over the past month.During the campaign, effective enforcement operations were carried out against motorists and motorcyclists, resulting in legal action against 66,089 traffic violators. Additionally, 6,562 motorcycles and 3,285 vehicles were impounded at various police stations.A total of 379 FIRs were also registered for serious traffic violations. The enforcement actions included 7,625 cases of lane violations, 4,392 cases of wrong-way driving, 4,392 cases of riding motorcycles without helmets, 7,150 cases involving non-standard number plates, 10,846 cases of illegal parking, 5,105 cases of overloading, along with legal action against various other traffic law violations.Furthermore, the Islamabad Traffic Police Education Wing organized 111 road safety workshops and other awareness activities at government and private institutions, educational establishments, markets, and major roads to promote road safety, encourage safe driving practices, and raise public awareness about traffic laws. Through these initiatives, more than 94,000 citizens were educated on traffic regulations, safe driving practices, and road safety.Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Kainat Azhar Khan, urged citizens to demonstrate responsible and law-abiding behavior by making compliance with traffic laws a part of their daily lives for the safety of themselves, their families, and fellow road users. She stated that driving without a valid driving license is not only a violation of the law but also puts the lives and property of both the driver and other road users at serious risk.She further emphasized that the Islamabad Traffic Police will not allow anyone to endanger the lives and property of citizens, and legal action against traffic law violators will continue without discrimination. She clarified that this special campaign has been launched to protect lives and property, establish a disciplined traffic system, prevent road accidents, and ensure a safe traveling environment on the roads.CTO Islamabad further stated that maintaining a well-organized, safe, and efficient traffic system in the federal capital, significantly reducing road accidents, and providing citizens with safe, convenient, and quality travel facilities remain among the top priorities of the Islamabad Traffic Police.
