Islamabad (Digital Post): A police checkpoint in Mangi, Ziarat, came under attack.
During the exchange of fire, 9 police personnel were martyred. According to reports, 5 police personnel were taken away by the attackers, while 15 terrorists were killed during the subsequent clearance operation.
Balochistan Chief Minister’s spokesperson Shahid Rind stated that the clearance operation against Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in Ziarat has been successfully completed. The operation was carried out jointly by the Frontier Corps (FC), Police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Operations Wing (SOW), and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF).
According to Shahid Rind, 9 police officers and personnel embraced martyrdom in the terrorist attack by Fitna al-Khawarij. The martyrs include the SHOs of Mangi Police Station and Kowas Police Station, the ATF in-charge, and other police personnel.
He further stated that DSP Ghulam Sarwar, along with 8 police personnel, safely reached Kach Police Station, while Constable Rizwan was also recovered safely.
Shahid Rind emphasized that there are no safe havens for terrorists in Balochistan, adding that every attack will receive a decisive response. He also said that intelligence-based operations against terrorists will continue.
