Rawalpindi (Digital Post) On June 10, 2026, a dignified ceremony was held at the office of the Deputy Inspector General, Rawalpindi, where the Punjab Prison Foundation, Lahore distributed Marriage Grants, Scholarships, and Notified Grants cheques among officers and officials of Punjab Prisons. Under the Marriage Grant scheme, cheques ranging from PKR 100,000 to PKR 500,000 were distributed. Under the Notified Grant scheme, cheques of PKR 100,000 were awarded, while Scholarship Grants ranging from PKR 36,000 to PKR 72,000 were distributed.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Abdul Rauf Rana, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Rawalpindi Region. Mr. Sajid Baig, Superintendent Central Jail Rawalpindi, and Mr. Arshad Razzaq, Superintendent District Jail Jhelum, were also present on the occasion. The speakers appreciated the effective role played by the Punjab Prison Foundation, Lahore in providing financial assistance and welfare facilities to employees. They stated that such welfare initiatives boost the morale and confidence of employees and reflect the department’s commitment to their welfare.
Marriage Grants are provided to officers and officials to financially support them on the occasion of their children’s marriages, while Scholarship Grants help meet the educational needs of their talented and deserving children. Similarly, Notified Grants provide financial assistance for funeral expenses in the event of the death of an employee’s parents, spouse, or children.
The speakers also emphasized that all grants provided by the Punjab Prison Foundation are approved strictly in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations, ensuring complete transparency and merit. The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector General of Prisons Punjab, Lahore, the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons Rawalpindi Region, and the management of the Punjab Prison Foundation for providing timely financial assistance.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdul Rauf Rana, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Rawalpindi Region, reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening welfare measures for officers and officials. He also pledged to ensure that the benefits of the Punjab Prison Foundation reach all beneficiaries in a transparent and timely manner.
