Jhelum (Digital Post) Important action by SHO City Police Station and team; attempt to obtain police protocol by posing as the Chairperson of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell foiled
Jhelum (Digital Post) SHO City Police Station and his team carried out an important operation in which an attempt to obtain police protocol by falsely presenting oneself as the Chairperson of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell was foiled.
The accused, Mehnaz Saeed, introduced herself as the Chairperson of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell and, while posing as a senior government official, allegedly attempted to obtain police protocol and official facilities from Jhelum Police through deception. Finding the matter suspicious, police immediately contacted the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell to verify the facts.
The Complaint Cell reportedly expressed complete disassociation from the self-proclaimed chairperson and directed that legal action be taken against such individuals to discourage similar acts.
Furthermore, during a search of the vehicle being used by the accused, liquor was also recovered from the vehicle. During the investigation, the accused’s claims were found to be false and baseless, and it emerged that she was allegedly attempting to mislead the police by assuming a fake official identity.
A case has been registered against the accused in accordance with the law, and further legal proceedings are underway.
Attempting to obtain official privileges by using a fake government identity or falsely claiming a public office is a criminal offense, and indiscriminate action will continue against such elements, said Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry, District Police Officer Jhelum.
