Rawalpindi (Digital Post) — On both sides of Nullah Lai, land mafias have occupied areas; some have set up sand and gravel depots while others have established illegal parking stands. Parking operators charge Rs. 500 from trucks, Rs. 250 from Shehzor vehicles, and Rs. 150 from cars as parking fees. On a daily basis, lakhs of rupees are being collected from both sides.
When questioned, they claim that these illegal parking setups have been established with the permission of TMA Corporation officials. The public has urged higher authorities to take notice of the situation.
Residents living around Nullah Lai have appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab to eliminate these illegal parking operations and remove unlawful sand, brick, and gravel depots so that the environment can improve. Due to these illegal parking areas, drug addicts have also established spots there, where narcotics are easily available.
