Karachi (Digital Posts) KarachiConcerns have emerged regarding alleged double standards in the return of official vehicles at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. Sources within the institution have raised questions about the implementation of recent directives issued by the administration.

According to sources, Executive Director retired Professor Tahir Sagheer directed subordinate officers to return official vehicles following a government notification regarding the use of government transport. Several officers reportedly complied with the directive and returned their vehicles accordingly. However, it has been alleged that an employee identified as Mustafa Hassan, also known as a plumber within the institution, has not returned an official vehicle even after three days. This has raised questions among staff members regarding why no action has been taken against the individual so far. Some employees believe that if official vehicles can be retrieved from senior officers, providing leniency to a particular individual creates an impression of unequal treatment and raises concerns about administrative transparency.

Sources further claim that the situation has led to speculation within certain circles about possible internal favoritism. No formal clarification from the institution’s administration has been issued yet regarding the matter.
Observers emphasize that since the issue involves public resources funded by taxpayers, it is important for the government and relevant authorities to take notice of the matter and ensure a transparent inquiry so that facts may be established and accountability ensured if any irregularities are confirmed.
