Karachi (Digital Post) Karachi A new alleged system of bribery has reportedly been introduced in the Revenue Recovery Group (RRG) of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation.

According to sources, during the tenure of newly appointed Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Haris Sarfraz, the RRG has allegedly been turned into a hub of corruption.

Sources claim that a bribe of Rs. 1 million was taken. Recently, Rs. 500,000 was reportedly received in exchange for issuing a temporary sub-soil license to Haji Jameel & Brothers.
The amount was allegedly collected by Senior Director Nisar Magsi, and the cash was reportedly handed over at the workshop in the name of the Chief Commercial Officer. It has further been stated that Haji Jameel & Brothers’ sub-soil network consists of three networks.
According to sources, bribes are allegedly being received on files through CCO’s GPA, Nadeem Haider, who is apparently working in the RRG in another capacity. Internal circles within the organization claim that a new method referred to as a “system” has been introduced in the RRG, under which officers with questionable records are allegedly being granted favors and decisions are being made in violation of rules.
On the other hand, neither the Chief Commercial Officer nor other concerned officials have issued any formal response to these allegations, raising serious questions about the institution’s transparency and performance.
