Journalists who considered Lewis unsuccessful in changing the fate of the newspaper are celebrating his resignation. The resigning Will Lewis was also the publisher of The Washington Post. In his statement, Will Lewis said that for a better future he had to take difficult decisions during his tenure, and he expressed gratitude to the newspaper’s owner Jeff Bezos, saying that there could be no better owner of the newspaper. The Washington Post had terminated the jobs of more than 300 journalists just a few days earlier.
