Islamabad (Digital Posts): Law and order situation deteriorating in the federal capital; in broad daylight, Rs. 100,000 were snatched from CDA senior officer Muhammad Tariq posted at the Presidency. The affected citizen has appealed to IG Islamabad for immediate justice over police attitude and sluggishness.
According to details, on January 23, Muhammad Tariq withdrew Rs. 200,000 from Mallodi National Bank and was standing waiting for the Metro Bus when occupants of a white Mehran car lured him by offering to drop him at “Ghori Town” and made him sit in the car. Upon reaching Faizabad, the suspects took Rs. 100,000 from his pocket and, on resistance, pushed him out of the moving vehicle.
The affected citizen says that immediately after the incident he sought help from traffic police officials present at the spot, but they refused assistance, saying, “This is not our issue, it is a police station matter.” After informing 15, the SP Office and SHOs of Abpara and Khanna Pul police stations initiated action. With the help of CCTV footage, the vehicle and suspects were traced. On January 29, police informed the complainant about the arrest of the suspects, but so far the looted amount has not been recovered.
Muhammad Tariq has demanded from IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi that notice be taken of this injustice done to a senior citizen and that his hard-earned money be recovered. He has also demanded increased patrolling on highways for the protection of citizens.
