Karachi (Digital Posts) Karachi West police carried out effective operations against gutka and mawa selling and arrested two habitual offenders from Pirabad Police Station limits.
In the first operation, police arrested Muhammad Mudassir son of Muhammad Ishaq. A total of 65 packets of gutka mawa, weighing more than four kilograms, along with cash were recovered from his possession. According to police records, the accused is a habitual criminal and has previously been arrested and jailed in cases related to theft, arms act, and gutka mawa act.
In another operation, Pirabad police arrested Junaid son of Mehrbaz Khan on secret information. Police stated that the accused was also included in the list of wanted gutka mawa sellers. During the search, 110 packets of gutka mawa, weighing more than seven kilograms, and cash were recovered.
Police have registered cases against both accused under relevant laws and initiated investigations. Officials stated that gutka and mawa selling pose a serious threat to public health and strict action against such activities will continue.
