Rawalpindi (Digital Posts): Case Registered for Drugging, Forcing, and Impregnating a 13-Year-Old Domestic Worker

An incident of sexual assault against a 13-year-old domestic worker has occurred within the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station; the police registered a case after the girl became pregnant. The complainant, Ghulam Fatima, stated in her statement that she is a resident of Faisalabad and that her relative, 13-year-old Zunaira, daughter of Bunyamin, had been under her guardianship for the last 7 years following the death of her father and her mother’s second marriage.

Later, the girl was left with Sunila Adeel for better education and upbringing. It was agreed with Sunila Adeel and others that they would provide the girl with a better education and upbringing and pay 6,000 rupees per month. Zunaira had been with Sunila for the past five years, during which time I remained in contact with her via telephone.

For some time, the husband and wife did not allow communication with Zunaira. Consequently, on December 15, when the complainant went to meet and collect the girl, she was initially not allowed to see her; later, the girl was handed over to her, and she took her back to the village.

Upon arriving at the village, it was discovered that the girl was pregnant. After conducting tests and questioning, the girl revealed that Adeel used to give her sleeping pills and assault her forcibly, and had also victimized her a month ago. According to the complainant, Shafi and Adeel used to beat and threaten Zunaira. The police have started an investigation into the incident, and the investigation of the case is being handled by ASI Taimur.
