Islamabad (Digital Post) AVLU recovers stolen vehicles worth Rs. 1.63 billion during first eight months of 2026،According to the details, the Islamabad Police Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) demonstrated strong performance during the first eight months of 2026, arresting 38 accused involved in vehicle theft and recovering 50 stolen vehicles worth Rs. 1.63 billion. The recovered vehicles included 29 vehicles stolen during 2026 and 21 vehicles reported stolen in previous years. The vehicles were recovered through effective investigation and the use of modern technical resources.During the year, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) also arrested 14 members of six active car-lifting gangs. In addition, eight proclaimed offenders and previously record-holding criminals involved in serious offences were arrested.AVLU police teams also conducted operations against drug dealers and illegal weapon holders. During these operations, a significant quantity of ice and hashish was recovered from drug dealers, while pistols along with ammunition were also recovered from individuals possessing illegal weapons.Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Suleman Zafar stated that protecting citizens valuable assets remains a top priority of Islamabad Police. He said indiscriminate action against organized vehicle-lifting gangs and other criminal elements would continue, and all available resources would be utilized to bring offenders to justice.
