Hasan Abdal (Digital Post) – Notorious suspect Farjad alias Fari, who was arrested by Saddar Hasan Abdal Police, was presented before the court again after the completion of his five-day physical remand.
The police requested an additional five-day physical remand. However, after reviewing the case record and the progress of the investigation, Judicial Magistrate Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami approved a three-day extension in the suspect’s physical remand and handed him back into police custody.
According to investigation documents and police records, Farjad alias Fari, along with his accomplices, allegedly abducted a transgender person at gunpoint. During the period of detention, the victim was allegedly threatened and forced to transfer Rs. 500,000 online from a bank account.
Police further stated that the suspects also took possession of the victim’s ATM card and, while keeping the victim in illegal confinement, withdrew money from various locations over a period of two days for financial gain.
In the latest investigation report presented before the court, police maintained that the suspect is a habitual and cunning criminal who is attempting to conceal facts during the investigation. According to the investigating officer, the stolen money, the weapon allegedly used in the crime, and other important evidence are yet to be recovered.
Police informed the court that further investigation is essential for the arrest of the suspect’s absconding accomplices and for completing important aspects of the case. Agreeing with the police arguments, the court approved a three-day extension of the physical remand.
According to sources, a report regarding further investigative progress and any possible recoveries is expected to be presented before the court at the next hearing.
