Pakistan has shown the ability to affect enemy infrastructure (such as power grids) through advanced cyber attacks and long-term surveillance through drones.
Nuclear deterrence:
Pakistan’s policy of full spectrum deterrence and missile systems like Shaheen, Ghauri and Abdali are a clear warning to the enemy. The Field Marshal has described these capabilities as a guarantee of “defensive superiority” despite Pakistan’s peace-loving attitude.Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has given a message to the enemy on the completion of one year of the Battle of Haq that the impact of the war on future attempts at aggression will be wide and dangerous.
A grand ceremony was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Sunday to mark the completion of one year of the glorious victory of the Battle of Haq in Rawalpindi, with Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir as the special guest. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf also attended the ceremony. On this occasion, the Field Marshal and Services Chiefs laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered Fateha, while the armed forces troops saluted them. Field Marshal Asim Munir said that today is a day of pride for us because in the Battle of Haq, India was given a befitting reply that it will never forget. The enemy had tried to test our national resolve and dignity, but it fell prey to its outdated thinking and self-deception.
The Field Marshal said that India was dreaming of hegemony in the region but it forgot that its dreams were much bigger than its capabilities. He further said that the battle of May 2025 was not a sudden incident but a continuation of India’s misleading and aggressive behavior, in which attempts were made to target Pakistan through various past incidents and allegations.
Field Marshal Asim Munir clarified that the battle of truth was not just a traditional war between two countries or two armies, but it was a decisive battle between two different ideologies in which Allah Almighty granted victory to Pakistan.
India thought that it would isolate Pakistan militarily and diplomatically, but all its estimates proved wrong. Pakistan and its forces were neither intimidated by any pressure in the past nor will they be in the future.
Giving a stern warning to the enemy, the Field Marshal said that “if any future adventure is attempted against Pakistan, this time the effects of the war will not be limited but will be extremely wide, dangerous, far-reaching and painful.”
The address said that Alhamdulillah, Pakistan’s defense is completely invincible against any external aggression today. Pakistan is committed to maintaining the balance of power in the region and implementing an effective defense strategy. To maintain peace, it is necessary to be ready for war at all times, and Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared for all types of conventional and unconventional warfare.
The Field Marshal said that in view of these challenges, the Defense Forces Headquarters has been established to further modernize the Pakistani armed forces, while the space program is also being expanded. The Army Rocket Force Command and the acquisition of modern weapons, including the Fatah missile series and new warships, are part of this defense vision. He further said that Pakistan’s defense preparedness is not limited to weapons alone, but also includes new thinking, modern training and research. The success achieved in the war of truth has also positively strengthened Pakistan’s foreign policy and global diplomatic status.
Highlighting the defense performance, the Field Marshal said that superior war strategy forced the enemy to retreat and the Fateh missile system and the Shaheens of the Pakistan Air Force successfully hit more than 26 military targets, creating a new history of air combat. Praising the Navy, he said that our naval personnel kept the enemy miles away from the water borders, while the enemy was forced to hoist white flags on the Line of Control. India had to suffer heavy loss of life and property in this adventure.
The Field Marshal said that now Pakistan has also established a Multi-Domain Operation Center so that it can better face future challenges.
The Field Marshal thanked the nation, political leadership, media and youth and said that the entire nation proved to be a leaden wall for the defense of the homeland and the way the youth thwarted the enemy’s propaganda is an example.
He termed the recent defense agreement with Saudi Arabia as a historic step and said that today the world is looking at Pakistan with respect and those who were objectors yesterday are now acknowledging our capabilities. Countries that used to object to Pakistan in the past are now among its close partners. He saluted the martyrs and ghazis and said that the heirs of the martyrs are the crown of our heads and Pakistan was invincible even before and will always remain invincible. He also reiterated the resolve that the war will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated from the country. Field Marshal Asim Munir said that after the four-day fighting between Pakistan and India last year, India requested a ceasefire. The Field Marshal said that in view of Pakistan’s military capabilities, “India expressed its desire for a ceasefire to the international and other external powers.” He added that “the defeated India offered mediation through the political leadership of the United States, which Pakistan accepted for the sake of greater peace in the region.” Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Pakistan pays tribute to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives and kept the flag of the country. All the martyrs of the struggle for truth and their families are a source of pride for the nation, whose sacrifices are the guarantee of our freedom and an eternal debt to the nation. On this occasion, salutes were also paid to the Ghazis who created a history of bravery and valor on the battlefield that future generations will always be proud of. It was said that we consider our success as the favor of Allah Almighty, the sacrifices of the martyrs as a trust and our strength as a responsibility.In his address, the Field Marshal also thanked the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, the federal cabinet, the national and provincial political leadership and all political parties, whose political insight and guidance made Pakistan achieve this success. The Field Marshal said that Pakistan’s diplomatic representatives played an effective role at the global level, while the media, the journalistic community and the youth thwarted the enemy’s propaganda and cyber warfare. The battle for truth was won not only on the battlefield but also at the national level, where the people showed extraordinary unity. When the clouds of war loomed, every section of thought stood in a row under the spirit of ‘Pakistanism’ and played its role in defending the homeland. The Field Marshal said that after failing in the traditional battlefield, India has adopted the path of sponsoring terrorism under its old state policy. It has once again tried to create instability in the region. He said that this terrorism is not only being carried out from the soil of India but also from Afghanistan. Pakistan has demanded that Afghanistan cleanse its territory of terrorist groups, especially elements of Fitna Khawarij and Fitna Bharat, and ensure the complete elimination of terrorist centers.

Here are some of the major reasons for calling these messages “an important chapter in national history”:
A clear red line for the enemy:
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s statement that “the response will be tougher and more painful than before” is a clear red line for the enemy that has transformed the old defense principles into a new offensive defense.
Political and Military Unity:
Just as the Prime Minister and the military leadership challenged the enemy in the same language, it sent a message internationally that no matter what the internal affairs of Pakistan may be, the entire state is a “lead wall” on the issue of national security. Recognition of technological superiority: The mention of the air and missile superiority shown during Operation Banyan Marsus in the leadership’s messages is a testimony to the fact that Pakistan has now become self-sufficient in the field of modern technology along with conventional warfare.
Restoration of national dignity:
The May 10th battle of Haq has emerged as a success after the memories of 1965 and 1971, which has raised the morale of the Pakistani nation to new heights. These messages serve as a motto for the coming generations, teaching them to protect their borders and not compromise on national honor.
1. Superiority of intelligence and advance information;
The Battle of Haq was not just a battlefield victory, but also a major success for Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. Pakistan was well-informed about the enemy’s intentions, due to which the leadership, instead of giving a “surprise”, thwarted the enemy’s attack at its inception.
2. “Self-Defense” to “Proactive Response” An important point is that Pakistan’s defense strategy is no longer limited to waiting for an attack.
The leadership’s messages show that Pakistan is now following a policy of “proactive defense”, that is, crushing the threat across the border as soon as it is realized.
3. The war of media and narrative;
According to senior analyst Asghar Ali Mubarak, in this battle, Pakistan also defeated the enemy in information warfare. The DG ISPR and the civilian leadership put the facts before the world in a timely manner, due to which the enemy’s propaganda failed on the global stage and Pakistan’s position proved to be based on “truth”.
4. Confidence in local defense production The mention of locally manufactured weapons (such as JF-17 Thunder and indigenous missile systems) in the leadership messages is a sign that Pakistan has now moved towards defense self-reliance by reducing its dependence on foreign suppliers, which is a historic achievement.
5. Message of regional stability and peace;
It also highlighted the point that the leadership mentioned the desire for peace along with the display of strength. The message was that Pakistan’s strength is not for aggression against anyone but for maintaining balance in the region and guaranteeing peace.
6. Combination of kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities;
According to the analysis, while the Field Marshal talked about tanks and aircraft, he called cyber security and the country’s economy indispensable for defense. This is evidence that the leadership is now following the concept of “Comprehensive National Security”.
The specific weapons and diplomatic achievements mentioned by the Pakistani leadership on the occasion of Battle of Haq Day are as follows:

These missiles accurately destroyed enemy military installations at long ranges, including storage sites for Brahmos missiles. Anti-radar and supersonic missiles: CM-400AKG supersonic missiles were used to disable the enemy’s S-400 air defense system, which is not detected by enemy radars due to its high speed (Mach 4.5-5).
Drone technology:
Pakistan used long-range drones like Wing Loong II and CH-4, as well as loitering munitions (YIHA III). In addition, more than 70 drones of the Indian Army were also destroyed.
Cyberwarfare:
During this battle, Pakistan carried out effective cyber attacks on enemy infrastructure, which resulted in a large part of the Indian power grid being temporarily disabled.
Diplomatic achievements;
Along with the battlefield, Pakistan also achieved major victories on the diplomatic front:
Global support and isolation:
After the Battle of Haq, Pakistan presented its position to the world with evidence, which made India face a global backlash.
Mediation role:
Pakistan not only defended itself during this time but also played a role in regional peace. According to President Zardari, Pakistan also provided diplomatic support in reducing tensions between the United States and Iran.
Cooperation with China and Saudi Arabia: During this crisis, China and Saudi Arabia provided strong diplomatic and defense support to Pakistan, which further strengthened Pakistan’s strategic relations.Increase in defense exports:
After seeing the excellent performance of Pakistani weapons (especially JF-17 and Fateh missiles) in the war, many countries have shown interest in purchasing defense from Pakistan, which Senior Analyst Asghar Ali Mubarak and other analysts have termed as a major economic and diplomatic victory for Pakistan. Field Marshal Asim Munir, in his address, has termed these achievements as the fruit of the determination of the “Banyan-e-Marsoos” (lead-lined wall).
