Share

ISLAMABAD (Digital Post) Pakistan confirmed that mediation between the US and Iran is underway and stated that Turkey and Egypt are also involved in this process. Pakistan is committed to promoting peace,
Pakistan’s message is clear: it wants to be a “partner of peace” rather than being part of any group or global conflict, allowing it to focus on economic development and public welfare.
Pakistan is continuing its efforts to ensure stability in the region and around the world. Dialogue and diplomacy are the only way forward.
The centerpiece of Pakistan’s current foreign and domestic policy is “peace and economic stability”. The important aspects of Pakistan’s peace-loving role in the context of 2026 are as follows:
1. Regional mediation (Iran-US tensions)
Pakistan is currently playing a key role in the Middle East for peace. According to recent reports:
Pakistan has offered to host indirect talks between Iran and the US.
The 15-point peace plan sent by the US to Iran was conveyed through Pakistan, an attempt to save the region from a major war.
2. Afghanistan and peace on the borders
Pakistan has been consistently urging the international community to cooperate in dealing with the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan so as to prevent the path of extremism in the region.
On the domestic front, measures such as the commitment to stability against terrorism are aimed at making Pakistan’s soil a cradle of peace.
3. Relations with India and Kashmir
Pakistan maintains that lasting peace in South Asia lies in the resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
Pakistan has repeatedly invited India for talks, provided it provides a conducive environment.
4. Economic diplomacy; The government’s policy is now focused on “trade and connectivity” rather than “wars”.
The second phase of CPEC and reaching out to Central Asian states aims to establish peace through economic partnership.
5. Global Peacekeeping Missions
Pakistan is among the countries that send the most troops to UN peacekeeping missions, which is proof of Pakistan’s practical commitment to promoting peace at the global level.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, while confirming Pakistan’s coordination in the US-Iran talks on the social networking website X, said that Pakistan is playing the role of conveying messages between the US and Iran and is engaged in mediation efforts. The Deputy Prime Minister said that unnecessary speculations are being made in the media regarding the peace talks; however, indirect talks between the US and Iran are continuing through Pakistan. The Foreign Minister said that 15 points were presented by the US, which Iran is considering, and other countries, including Turkey and Egypt, are also supporting the diplomatic process.
According to the Iranian media Press TV, Iran has made the end of the war conditional on the cessation of attacks by the US and Israel.
Iran says that the first condition for ending the war is to stop the attacks and the killing of officials. Defensive operations will continue until these conditions are met.
Iran has stressed that it is necessary to stop the attacks before the ceasefire.
According to Iranian officials, the US proposal has been reviewed, and the US ceasefire proposals have been deemed excessive.
Iranian position;
Demand for compensation for the losses caused by the war,
There will be no compromise on the missile program,
We will decide when the war will end,
Trump cannot decide to end the war,
The US cannot dictate the ceasefire,
Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is among the conditions,
Guarantees should be given not to attack again.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry denied Trump’s claim of negotiations and said that no talks or negotiations are taking place. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai denied Trump’s claim of negotiations and said that the main thing had made it clear that there were no talks or negotiations between Iran and the US. Iran has always had a “disastrous experience” of diplomacy with the US. Whenever the negotiation process was underway, the US stabbed itself in the back.
Ismail Baqai revealed that during the past nine months, when the negotiation process was being attempted, Iran was attacked twice, which was a betrayal of diplomacy. The spokesman said that several countries have offered to mediate between Iran and the US, and continuous messages have been received for the past few days. However, our message is very clear: we will continue to defend ourselves. Iran is being continuously bombed by the US and Israel, so their claim of diplomacy and mediation is not credible.
Iran has termed President Trump’s claims of a “new group” and “negotiations” as diplomatic deception and made it clear that in the current war situation, there is no question of any kind of deal. The United States has sent a 15-point negotiation agenda to Iran through Pakistan, offering a peace plan. According to the American newspaper The New York Post, the United States has sent a 15-point peace plan to Iran through Pakistan, which aims to find a way out of the war and restore peace to the region. The conditions that the United States has presented in this peace plan are as follows:

1. Iran must eliminate its current nuclear capabilities.

2. Iran will never try to make nuclear weapons.

3. There will be no uranium enrichment on Iranian soil.

4. Iran must hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

5. The Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow nuclear facilities must be dismantled.

6. The IAEA must be given full access to Iran’s nuclear facilities.

7. Iran must abandon its “regional proxy model”.

8. Iran must stop funding its proxies in the region.

9. Iran must limit its missile program, both in range and quantity.

10. Iran must limit its use of its missiles to self-defense.

The global benefits that Iran would receive if it met these conditions include

11. The lifting of sanctions imposed by the international community.

12. U.S. assistance to advance its civilian nuclear program.

13. A “snapback” mechanism that allows sanctions to be automatically reimposed if Iran fails to comply.
However, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt indicated that U.S. military action against Iran would continue until Trump’s objectives were achieved. At the recommendation of Pakistan, the United States has temporarily removed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf from the hit list in order to pave the way for possible peace talks between Washington and Tehran. However, Iran has not yet started any formal talks, and Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey are playing a role in mediation. According to Reuters, on the recommendation of Pakistan, the US has temporarily removed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf from its hit list. Israel had the coordinates of both leaders and was planning to attack them. Sources say that Pakistan has told Washington that if these two are removed, there will be no leader left for talks with Iran. In this situation, the threat to the Iranian people will increase, and the Iranian people will either kill or die. This move has been taken to give a chance to possible peace talks between Washington and Tehran. According to a report in the American newspaper ‘Wall Street Journal’, US officials say that the two leaders have been removed from the hit list for four to five days so that a diplomatic offer made by President Donald Trump can be tested.
According to the American newspaper, although officials say that the chances of the talks succeeding are limited due to the clear difference in the positions of the two countries. This development has come at a time when President Trump claimed that positive and constructive talks have taken place between Washington and Tehran. In this hope, the United States has temporarily stopped the attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure in order to see progress in the next few days. However, he has also warned on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’ that Iran will have to get serious soon, otherwise the situation may reach a point of no return, and the results will not be happy. On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has denied the news of direct talks and said that they have only received a message from Washington of a desire to talk, but no formal talks have started yet. In this regard, Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey are playing the role of mediators between Iran and the United States to pave the way for a possible peace agreement. It should be remembered that on February 28 of this year, the United States and Israel jointly attacked several areas of Iran, including Tehran. The attacks killed several top military and political figures, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Among the martyrs were Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammad Pakpour. Iran responded to the attacks by targeting US military bases in Israel and the Middle East. Now, recent diplomatic signals suggest that the two sides may be looking for a middle ground to de-escalate the conflict. Analysts say Pakistan’s mediation efforts could help ease the standoff between Washington and Tehran, at least temporarily. The removal of Iranian leaders from the hit list through Pakistan’s mediation has paved the way for possible peace talks. However, experts believe that mediation alone is not enough, and the success of the talks will depend on the seriousness and flexibility of both sides. Trump urged Iran to act quickly on the ceasefire plan. President Trump is awaiting a formal response from Iran on proposals made by the United States to end the nearly four-week-old war. US President Donald Trump warned Iran on Thursday to get “serious” about the deal, after his Secretary of State said Tehran was reviewing the US proposal, but no talks had been held on ending the war. Trump’s comments came as the economic and human toll of the conflict mounted, fuel shortages spread around the world, and companies and countries were forced to take emergency measures to cope with the emergency. Trump said in a post on Truth Social that Iran had been “military-killed, there is no way back,” and was “begging” for a deal. Describing Iranian negotiators as “very different and ‘weird,’” he added that “they better get serious soon, before it’s too late.” Because once that happens, there is no going back, and it will not be better.” Earlier in Washington, President Trump said that Iranian officials are eager to make a deal but are not admitting it out of fear for their people and the United States. President Trump said that they (the Iranians) are negotiating and want to make a deal, but they are afraid to say it because they think their own people or we will kill them. He added that the Iranian people are adamant about making me the supreme leader, but I told them no thanks! I do not want this position. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the consequences of the ongoing war in the Middle East could be as serious as those of the coronavirus because the coronavirus has badly affected every region and development in the world.

Regarding the war between Israel and the United States over Iran that has been going on for almost a month, the Russian President said that it is currently difficult to accurately predict the effects of the Iran conflict. Even the parties involved in the war do not know what will happen next. Putin said that the tension in the region is causing serious damage to international logistics, production, and supply chains. Industries related to the production of oil, gas, metals, and fertilizers are under attack. He said that the coronavirus had affected the global economy, and the war is also causing investment to deteriorate. We will have to be strong and united in Russia to face the challenges. The Russian President added that such changes in trade and the economy are now becoming a new reality. We will have to learn to live in the conditions to protect national interests and achieve strategic development goals. According to foreign media, the Russian government spokesman said while talking to journalists that numerous false news is being spread in the media and they should not be paid attention to. According to the report, Russia is a close ally of Iran; however, it has denied that it has supported the United States and Israel. Since the beginning of the attacks on Iran in February, it has provided some kind of military assistance to its ally. It should be noted that the Financial Times reported, citing Western intelligence officials, that Russia is providing drones to Tehran and that the delivery will be completed by the end of March.
Russian President Putin is behind Iran, British Defense MinisterEarlier, the Washington Post also reported that Moscow has provided sensitive intelligence to Tehran. British Defense Minister John Haley says that Russian President Putin is behind Iran. According to foreign media, British Defense Minister John Haley has said that Russia is providing Iran with intelligence information and even training. The Iranian-made drone that crashed at a British air base in Cyprus on March 1 is being analyzed to determine whether it contained parts or technology from Russia or any other country. He said that we will release the results of this investigation in due course when we have full evidence. It should not be surprising to anyone that Russian President Putin may be secretly behind some of Iran’s strategies and possibly its capabilities. Especially since the Russian president is among the world leaders benefiting from the current high oil prices. Former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that no one knows how long the current government will last in Iran. He admitted that there was no uprising against the current government after the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, but rather the people supported the current government. It should be noted that US President Donald Trump had said that we have destroyed Iran’s navy and air force, we have eliminated their leadership, this is regime change. He also expressed his desire for a ceasefire with Iran. The White House spokesperson has said that if Iran does not admit defeat, Trump is ready to inflict further damage on it. White House spokesperson Caroline Lutet said that 9,000 targets were hit in Operation Epic Fury, 90 percent of Iran’s missiles and drones were shot down, and more than 140 Iranian ships were destroyed, the first time a navy has been destroyed to this extent since World War II. If Iran does not admit defeat, more severe attacks will be carried out. President Trump does not make threats; Iran should not miscalculate. He said that last time, due to wrong estimates, Iran’s leadership, navy, and air force were all eliminated. Now the war will be because Iran refuses to understand. When the war with Iran ends, fuel prices will decrease. The White House spokesperson was asked about the news of JD Vance’s visit to Pakistan and meeting with Iranian officials, to which he said that the situation is still unstable. Until the White House makes an official announcement, no meeting should be considered final. He cannot say who is negotiating with Iran. JD Vance has been involved in discussions related to Iran. Caroline Lutt said that the process of negotiations with Iran is ongoing. President Trump considers diplomacy as the first option before military action. President Trump is not afraid of using force but considers diplomacy as the first option. If necessary, Iran may face “20 times” more severe attacks. All options related to Iran are still on the table. After the attacks on Tehran and other cities, the US suddenly targeted Iran’s island of Kharg. The US Air Force bombed the island, and now there are reports of plans to seize it. This Iranian island has a history of thousands of years, it is the center of the Iranian ‘oil economy’ and one of the important military sites, due to strict surveillance it is also called the ‘Forbidden Island’ in Iran. ‘Kharg’ is an island of extremely strategic importance located in the northern part of the Persian Gulf, which is the aorta for Iran’s economy. The US and Israel had so far limited their attacks to Iranian cities, but they targeted this island as well, and now there are reports of the seizure of this island. The island is called the ‘Forbidden Island’ in Iran, and geographically, it is under the administration of the Bushehr province of Iran. Due to the strict security of the Revolutionary Guards, only those with special government permits are allowed to enter here. The island is seemingly a small piece of land in the sea, but about 90 percent of Iran’s crude oil exports come from this island. The island of ‘Kharg’ became the center of global attention on the morning of March 14, the fifteenth day of the Iran-Iraq war, when US President Donald Trump announced that the US Air Force had targeted Iranian military installations on the island, calling it the most powerful bombing in the history of the Middle East. President Trump also said that the oil installations on the island had not been destroyed at present, but he threatened that if Iran obstructed the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, he would immediately review this decision. In response to the threat, there was a strong reaction from Iran. The Iranian military has warned that if there is an attempt to attack or capture Kharg, oil and energy companies owned by the US and its allies will be destroyed and reduced to ashes. The media has previously reported that the Trump administration’s plan to increase pressure on Iran included the option of occupying or landing troops on Kharg Island. In the fourth week of the war, American attempts to occupy the island have once again begun. The history of Kharg Island is thousands of years old, and there are remains and traces of civilizations that are thousands of years old. Kharg had strategic importance long before the discovery of oil and was used as an important naval outpost. Geographically and historically, the island has always been part of Iran (Persian Empire) and has been under continuous and exclusive Iranian administration since the mid-18th century. During the European colonial era, the island was first occupied by the Portuguese, and then the Dutch East India Company built a fort here in the 18th century. However, in 1766, the governor of Bandar Rig, Mir Mahna, expelled the Dutch forces from the island. In the 19th century, Britain briefly occupied the island twice to pressure Iran, but after the Treaty of Paris, it was permanently handed over to Iran. The Iranian king Reza Shah Pahlavi also used the island as a place of exile for political prisoners. In the early 1960s, large oil reserves were discovered in the sea areas around the island, after which it was formally made Iran’s main oil terminal during the reign of the Shah of Iran. Since then, it has been considered an ‘integral part’ of Iran’s economy. Kharg Island is also called ‘Coral Island’ due to its structure and foundation. Interestingly, a special breed of deer, the Iranian Jabir, is found on this island. The famous Iranian writer Jalal Al-Ahmad wrote a book on this island in which he used the term ‘Orphan Pearl of the Persian Gulf’ (Jazira Kharak, Dur-e Yatim-e Khalij) for this island, and this is also the title of the book. In his book, Jalal Al-Ahmad mentioned the unique structure of this island and said, ‘This island is not made of soil but of layers of coral, which is why its soil is hard and rocky.
