ISLAMABAD (Digital Post) After losing to England in the T20 World Cup Super 8 match, it has become difficult for Pakistan to make it to the semi-finals.
In the second match of the Super 8 stage, England defeated Pakistan, after which reaching the semi-finals for Pakistan now depends not only on the results of its last match but also on the results of other teams in the group.
Currently, England is at the top of the table with 4 points in Group 2, having won both matches and having qualified for the semi-finals, Pakistan and New Zealand have one point each, while Sri Lanka has not won any match yet.
To reach the semi-finals, Pakistan needs to defeat Sri Lanka in its last match, along with this, England needs to defeat New Zealand in its last match, while Sri Lanka also needs to defeat New Zealand.
In such a case, Pakistan will have 3 points and will make it to the semi-finals, while New Zealand will have 1 and Sri Lanka will have 2 points.
If England beats New Zealand but New Zealand beats Sri Lanka, then both Pakistan and New Zealand will have 3 points each and their place in the semi-finals will be decided by run rate.
