Rawalpindi (Digital Post): The Punjab government has issued a new transport policy for officers.

According to the notification, the Chief Secretary and the Inspector General (IG) Punjab will be allowed to keep three official vehicles for their use. The Chief Secretary and IG Punjab will use vehicles with engine capacities of 2800cc, 1800cc, and 4700cc.

The notification states that for two vehicles of the Chief Secretary and IG Police, 800 liters of petrol per month will be provided. However, no fuel limit has been set for the 4700cc vehicle of the Chief Secretary and IG Punjab. Previously, the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Punjab were authorized to keep 1300cc and 1600cc vehicles.

Earlier, the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary were entitled to 200 liters of petrol per month for official duty vehicles. However, there was no fuel limit for vehicles used for official tours in Punjab.

According to the notification, among Grade 20, 21, and 22 officers, Secretaries will be allowed to use two vehicles with engine capacities of 2800cc and 1800cc. Grade 22 and 21 officers will be entitled to 200 liters of petrol per month for personal use and unlimited petrol for official use.

Under the previous policy, Administrative Secretaries of Punjab were allowed to use a 1300cc vehicle and 200 liters of petrol per month.

The notification further states that Grade 19 and 20 Special Secretaries and DIGs will use 1600cc vehicles and receive 250 liters of petrol per month. Under the previous policy, these officers were allowed 1000cc to 1300cc vehicles and 175 liters of petrol per month.

In addition, Grade 19 Additional Secretaries will use 1600cc vehicles and receive 200 liters of petrol per month. Under the previous policy, these officers were allowed 175 liters of petrol per month.

In Grade 18, Deputy Secretaries will use 1500cc vehicles with 175 liters of petrol per month. Previously, Deputy Secretaries were allowed 1000cc vehicles and up to 150 liters of petrol per month.

Staff Officers and Section Officers of the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Punjab will use 1300cc vehicles with 150 liters of petrol per month.

According to the notification, Staff Officers of provincial ministers in Punjab will use 1300cc vehicles with 125 liters of petrol per month.
