Rawalpindi (Digital Post): Chaklala Police arrested two persons possessing counterfeit currency and recovered Rs. 200,000. During a checkpoint, a suspicious vehicle was stopped and checked, and counterfeit currency was recovered from the possession of the suspects. A case has been registered against the detained persons and they have been arrested.
Gujar Khan Police arrested a man along with his accomplice for raping a woman. According to the complainant, the detained person, along with his accomplice, incited her against her husband and raped her by luring her with the promise of marriage. Gujar Khan Police registered a case on the woman’s application and arrested both accused. The affected woman’s medical examination has been conducted.
During an effective crackdown against kite suppliers, 12 persons were arrested, more than 2,000 kites and 35 strings were recovered. Naseerabad Police took one person into custody and recovered 165 kites and 10 strings. Wah Cantt Police recovered 280 kites and 11 strings from three persons. Waris Khan Police recovered 165 kites and 12 strings from six persons. Sadiqabad Police took one person into custody and recovered 15 kites and two strings. Saddar Baironi Police took one person into custody and recovered 15 kites and strings. Separate cases have been registered against the detained persons and they have been arrested.
During the operation against beggar mafias, on the twentieth day as well, 256 professional beggars were arrested from across the city. Among the detained persons are 121 men, 125 women, and 10 transgender persons. Special squads have been formed for action against beggars. Strict monitoring is being carried out to curb begging on busy roads. Professional beggars create traffic obstacles on busy highways and become a nuisance for citizens, and most of them are involved in theft, drug dealing, and other crimes.
In other actions, Rawal Division Police arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a case of criminal breach of trust. The proclaimed offender had been wanted by Police Station City since October 25. New Town Police arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a cheque dishonor case. The proclaimed offender had been wanted by New Town Police since May 2025.
During action against drug dealers, 04 persons were arrested and 06 kilograms of charas were recovered. Chaklala Police took 02 drug suppliers into custody and recovered 3 kilograms 370 grams of charas. Gujar Khan Police took one drug supplier into custody and recovered 1 kilogram 620 grams of charas. Civil Lines Police took one supplier into custody and recovered 1 kilogram 460 grams of charas and registered separate cases.
During action against liquor and weapons, police took eight persons into custody and recovered more than 10 liters of liquor and weapons. Actions against the detained persons were carried out in the areas of Police Stations Bani, Kallar Syedan, Naseerabad, Taxila, and Wah Cantt.
