KARACHI (Digital Post) Karachi NICVD is facing an acute medicine shortage. Poor patients return without treatment every day. Doctors prescribe six medicines. The pharmacy provides only one or two. Four medicines remain unavailable. This reflects administrative negligence and possible financial irregularities.
Sources confirm that the annual budget runs into billions of rupees. Even then, essential drugs are missing. The administration remains silent. No department has taken action to resolve the shortage.
Patients and staff allege that a commission network dominates the procurement system. A large portion of funds goes to foreign trips, seminars and protocol. Essential medicines receive minimal allocations.
Public demands immediate accountability. Citizens want to know where the budget is being spent. They call for a full audit and urgent corrective action.
