RAWALPINDI (Abbas Baig Mirza) Investiture Ceremony to confer military awards to officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army was held today at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir COAS & CDF as the chief guest conferred the awards to the families of shuhada, officers and soilders in recognition of exceptional gallantry in operations and distinguished services rendered to the nation. Decorations conferred included Fifty Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Twelve Tamgha-i-Basalat. Medals awarded posthumously were received with honour by families of Shuhada.
\nPaying tribute to the Shuhada and Ghazis, the Field Marshal stated “Shuhada and Ghazis remain the enduring pride of the nation. Their honour and sacrifice are a sacred trust for every Pakistani. Peace and security of our motherland are owed to their supreme sacrifices and unwavering devotion to duty.\u201d The Field Marshal also expressed profound admiration for the resilience, dignity and steadfastness demonstrated by the families of Shuhada, acknowledging their unparalleled sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the homeland.
