Rahim Yar Khan (Digital Post) \u2014 The approximately 100-kilometer-long Kot Samaba Road, connecting Rahim Yar Khan with Khanpur and Liaquatpur, which was constructed at a cost exceeding 2 billion rupees, has allegedly emerged as a worst example of corruption and mismanagement.<\/p>\n

\"\"According to citizens, serious irregularities have surfaced in the construction of the road, and this important highway has deteriorated within just a few months. The road shoulders have been completely damaged, while dangerous potholes have appeared at multiple locations, causing accidents.<\/p>\n

Sources say that instead of the specified 7,000 PSI standard tough tiles, substandard and local materials were used in the project. Furthermore, the prescribed 30\/70 ratio for the road base was ignored, and due to poor compaction, the foundation of the road remained weak.<\/p>\n

The drainage channel constructed for water disposal was also made with substandard materials, while corruption is also alleged in the slope work. Similarly, due to the use of poor-quality material in line marking, the markings faded within a few days, and marking was limited only to urban areas.<\/p>\n

\"\"Citizens allege that the project was declared complete and bills were passed, and by submitting a \u201ceverything is fine\u201d report, millions of rupees were embezzled.<\/p>\n

Public circles have strongly protested and demanded immediate and transparent investigation against the Highways Department and the concerned contractor, stating that those responsible should be given strict punishment according to the law to prevent the waste of national resources and endangerment of public lives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
