Karachi (Digital Posts) Skin institute facing serious crisis of water due to KWSB Karachi Due to the alleged incompetence of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation officials, Asia\u2019s largest public dermatology institution, the Institute of Skin Diseases, is facing a severe crisis.<\/p>\n

\"\"Despite paying its water bills regularly every month, the hospital has been suffering from an acute water shortage for the past six months, while water supply has been completely suspended for the last fifteen days.<\/p>\n

According to the Director of the Institute of Skin Diseases, Dr. Muhammad Parel Jokhio, the hospital administration has not received even a single drop of water for the past fifteen days. He stated that the Managing Director of the Water Corporation and the concerned Chief Engineer were informed multiple times, but the issue remains unresolved.<\/p>\n

\"\"Dr. Jokhio further said that the Water Corporation sent a water tanker and charged Rs. 9,000 for it. He questioned how a government hospital could repeatedly bear the expenses of water tankers. He explained that the main supply line had not been providing water for years, and partial supply was being managed through an alternative line, which has now also been completely shut down.<\/p>\n

\"\"According to the hospital administration, Water Corporation officials advised them to install a motor pump. With financial assistance from friends, Rs. 55,000 were spent to install the pump, but even then, water could not be supplied.<\/p>\n

The hospital receives between 2,500 to 3,000 patients daily in the OPD, while several patients are admitted every day. The Director warned that if the situation continues and water is not restored by tonight, the hospital may be forced to temporarily suspend new patient admissions starting tomorrow.<\/p>\n
