Islamabad (Digital Post) : CDA BCS Officers, Hillview Hotel Management Involved in Illegal Construction

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) – Illegal constructions are ongoing at the Hillview Hotel in the F-7 Center area of Islamabad, with the connivance of corrupt officers from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the hotel management.
The hotel has been using the building illegally for years without obtaining the required approvals of Building Completion Certificate (BCS) from the CDA. Despite repeated notices from the CDA, the hotel management has continued with the illegal construction.

Sources revealed that a former Steno of Capital Development Authority is the owner of the hotel and his departmental colleagues in CDA have been giving him favor illegally. The corrupt officers in CDA have not been taking any action to fulfill the requirements of Building Completion Certificate.
Sources said that the hotel management is also in default of crores of rupees in property tax. A former employee of the hotel alleged that the hotel management has been providing free food and rooms to guests of CDA officials in order to avoid action.

The Daily Digital Post has been investigating into the illegal construction at the Hillview Hotel and the violations of CDA building’s by-laws for several months. The newspaper has also obtained reports from the Judicial Commission and other institutions that corroborate the allegations of corruption and illegality.

The CDA has been urged to take immediate action against the CDA BCS officers who are involved in the illegal construction at the Hillview Hotel.
The newspaper also called on the FIA and the NAB to investigate the allegations of bribery and protection of illegal activities by the hotel management and the CDA officers accepted bribes from the hotel management in exchange for overlooking illegal construction and property tax evasion.
